On Tuesday, September 19, the DGA Independent Directors Committee East presented their “Best of Slamdance” event, which featured a screening of director Todd Rohal’s The Guatemalan Handshake, winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival.
The film is a quirky mystery about the residents of a small mountain town who search for one of its most eccentric young residents who disappeared following a mysterious power failure.
Immediately following the screening, Rohal engaged in a discussion about the making of the film and the Slamdance Film Festival experience with IDC-E member Rose Troche who served as moderator.
