On Saturday, September 9, 2006, the DGA and the African American Steering Committee (AASC) presented A Conversation with the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) in the Boardroom of the Guild's Los Angeles Headquarters.
Actress/Director T’Keyah Crystal Keymah (That’s So Raven) moderated a discussion about the ways that filmmakers and critics can work together with AAFCA members Lee Bailey, founder of Rabercom Enterprises, which produces the syndicated radio program, RadioScope; entertainment correspondent Mignon Bolivar Turner; Tanya Hart, host of American Urban Radio Network’s Hollywood Live with Tanya Hart, a syndicated program on 500 stations; and AAFCA co-founder Gil Robertson IV, founder of the 10-year old nationally syndicated arts and lifestyle column, The Robertson Treatment Syndicated Column which appears in 30 African American newspapers and boasts a readership in excess of 2 million.
