This year’s event also noted the passage of California’s first film and television incentive package for the City of San Francisco and honored Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier and her legislative aide, Rob Black, for their efforts in passing the legislation. The incentives are designed to promote job opportunities, stimulate the economy and help restore the Bay Area film industry by making the region more appealing to production companies.
“We appreciate the accomplishments of Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier and express our sincere thanks to San Francisco for leading the way to revitalize the film industry in the Bay Area,” said SFCC Chair Paul Martin.
Attendees of the mixer were also given a copy of the DGA’s Northern California Contact List with the names, credits and contact information of DGA Members who work and/or reside in the Bay Area and the rest of Northern California.
Once again the mixer was a huge success and SFCC member Cathy Hammer called it “a major milestone celebration and an incredible evening of community.”
