On Thursday, June 22, 2006 the DGA continued its outreach to the independent film community by hosting a luncheon for participants of the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF).
The luncheon was held at the Napa Valley Grille in Westwood and attended by over 50 directors whose films were screening during the festival. DGA Director members Jacques Thelamaque (The Dogwalker) and E. Elias Merhige (Shadow of the Vampire) also addressed the luncheon, to answer questions about the DGA and inform the attendees about the many advantages of Guild membership.
Now in its twelfth year, LAFF is held annually for ten days in June, and showcases the best of American and International cinema with over 175 narrative features, documentaries, shorts, and music videos. The DGA is a LAFF affiliate, and has been a major supporter of the festival since its inception in 1995.
