DGA Hosts Luncheon for VCFF Filmmakers

As part of its continuing outreach to independent filmmakers, on Friday, May 5, 2006, the DGA hosted a luncheon for directors participating in VC Film Fest 2006: The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (VCFF).

The luncheon was one of highlights of an eight-day festival that featured 175 films and videos playing in the DGA theatre complex and three other venues. The DGA was also the site of the opening night ceremonies.

The luncheon was attended by more than 50 VCFF directors, who heard DGA Director-members Henry Chan and Chris Tashima speak about the advantages of Guild membership.

The DGA has been a proud sponsor of the VCFF for eleven consecutive years. The festival was established in 1983 as a vehicle to promote Asian Pacific American and Asian international cinema and presented by Visual Communications, the nation's premier media arts organization dedicated to creating, preserving and presenting Asian Pacific American history and culture through the media arts.
