On Saturday, February 25, 2006, the DGA Western AD/UPM/TC Council’s AD/UPM Mentor Committee presented its third annual event honoring the ADs and UPMs of DGA award-winning and nominated projects.

Mentor Committee Chair Randy Turrow welcomed a distinguished panel of Unit Production Managers, Assistant Directors, and a full house of attendees. The panel included 1st AD David Webb and 2nd AD Melissa V. Barnes from the feature film Good Night, and Good Luck; 1st AD Van Hayden and 2nd AD Stuart B. Hagen from the movie for television Their Eyes Were Watching God; UPM Bob Del Valle, 1st AD Marty Elcan and 2nd AD Cara McCastlain from the series Six Feet Under; UPM Henry Lange, Jr. and 2nd AD Jeff Bilger from the series My Name is Earl; and UPM Wayne Carmona and 1st AD Gary Goldman from the series Entourage. The discussion was moderated by 2006 DGA Frank Capra Achievement Award recipient Jerry Ziesmer.
