On Sunday, February 12, 2006 the DGA Special Projects Committee hosted a tribute to Guild Past President Delbert Mann, featuring a screening of his newly discovered and recently restored 1959 television production What Makes Sammy Run.
The event took place at the DGA Theatre Complex in Los Angeles where Mann was lauded by his DGA colleagues and creative collaborators from a lifetime behind the camera including: Angela Lansbury (The Dark At the Top of the Stairs), Ernest Borgnine (Marty), Eva Marie Saint (Our Town), DGA Special Projects Committee Chair Jeremy Kagan, Director Jim Drake and DGA Past President Gene Reynolds.
