Continuing the tradition of reaching out to the independent filmmaking community, the DGA's Independent Directors Committees (IDC) hosted receptions for Sundance Film Festival filmmakers in Los Angeles on December 13 and New York on December 15.
Los Angeles Reception:
Before a packed room at the Los Angeles reception, Sundance's Programming Director John Cooper and staff offered survival tips to the filmmakers. The audience also received the benefit of the experience of DGA IDC member Mary Lambert and DGA member Freida Lee Mock.
New York Reception:
Cooper also spoke to filmmakers at the New York reception, which featured remarks from IDC-East members Raymond De Felitta who won the 2000 Audience Award (Two Family House) and is a 2006 Grand Jury Prize Documentary nominee ('Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris); and 1994 Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee (Go Fish) Rose Troche.
