Texas Membership Meetings

DGA Eastern Executive Director Russ Hollander visited members in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 and along with Field Representative Lisa Layer held a separate meeting in Austin, Texas on Thursday, December 1, 2005. The purpose for the meetings was to update members who live in Texas about Guild activities with respect to the impact of Runaway Production on the region, Piracy and other issues, and to discuss matters of concern to DGA members who reside in Texas. “We were there to ask them what we can do to better serve the membership in Texas,” explained Hollander. “During these meetings we also discussed the recent negotiations — both the Basic Agreement and the new Commercial agreement.”

Members were also informed of efforts to combat Runaway Production via the Federal tax incentive bill known as the JOBS Act and how many other states are passing their own incentive programs and working to increase production. Members were informed that local production lists are available on the members-only section of the www.dga.org.

  • If you reside in the Texas area and have questions for the Guild, please contact Jean Frost at 212-258-0802 or Lisa Layer at 310-289-2067.
