The featured films this evening were Director Rick King’s feature-length documentary Voices in Wartime, a chronicle of warfare’s effects on soldiers, civilians and society via interviews ranging from American soldiers and Iraqis, Vietnam Vets and war correspondents to refugees and peace activists, punctuated by the words of celebrated poets from around the world.
The second film presented was Danae Elon’s Another Road Home, a record of her quest to find the Palestinian man who helped raise her from the time she was a baby until she joined the Israeli Army. A powerful, deeply personal portrait of how politics and war have informed — and often deformed - the most basic human relationships.
Director/Producer Rick King was present to introduce the screening of Voices in Wartime.
