SFCC Hosts Mid-Summer Networking Mixer

On June 30th, the SFCC hosted their Fifth Annual Mid-summer Networking Mixer, welcoming nearly 180 industry professionals to Kingfish, a stylish new San Francisco restaurant.

Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, after being welcomed by members of the Executive Committee and the Event Committee – making introductions were Paul Martin, Rufus Pederson, Hiro Narita, CJ Peterson, Alex Soranno, and David Hakim.

This year the SFCC recognized the recently-appointed San Francisco Film Commissioners. Of the eleven appointees, commissioners in attendance were Gregory Chew, Rory Enke, Jim McCullough, and Laurie Rowley, along with SF Film Office Executive Director Stefanie Coyote, and representatives of SF Supervisors and the Bay Area Film Alliance.

During a busy evening, DGA members met local producers and discussed the state of local production. SFCC Executive Committee Chair Paul Martin welcomed the new Film Commissioners and Ms. Coyote, before presenting Certificates of Outstanding Service to Hakim and Robert Mooney for six years of exemplary service to the SFCC.

Martin then directed inquiries about the DGA to Assistant Executive Director Rodney Mitchell, who was there from Guild headquarters in Los Angeles with DGA Field Rep Don Gold to meet new members and prospective signatory producers. Attendees received a directory of local DGA members, and local members polled agreed that the event was a wonderful success.
