Garcia has shot all over the world and won multiple awards, including the Emmy and the Addy, as well as earning many Clio nominations. She was chosen to be part of the prestigious Sony "Dream Project" for 2004 and her four-minute short debuted at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
Sponsored by the SFCC Executive Committee the six-hour program featured the nuts and bolts of directing and covered numerous topics, including working with actors, key issues with producers and staff, effective use of the director's team, dealing with agencies, and the director's preparation.
Both directors gave well-thought-out illustrations of various processes, especially covering pitches and the lead-in to selection by the agencies. They also showed many of their award-winning spots. The seminar proved a complete success, drawing praise from the attendees for both content and quality.
