On September 13, 2004 the Guild hosted its annual DGA Emmy Nominees Reception honoring the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Award-nominated members. DGA Fifth Vice President Betty Thomas, a two-time nominee and Emmy and DGA directing Award-winner, and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Governor Bruce Bilson presented official Emmy Nomination Certificates to the DGA nominees in attendance.
