Born in New York and raised in Rhode Island, Andrew Cooke spent his formative years falling in love with movies. Moving to New York City after college, he found employment as a commercial production assistant. He transitioned to location scouting on a Bon Jovi music video, which was followed up with The House on Carroll Street (Peter Yates, 1988). Mentored by unit production manager, G. Mac Brown, he transitioned to location manager on Light Sleeper (Paul Schrader, 1992), helping to establish and define the profession.

Since Light Sleeper, Cooke’s location management credits include such films as Scent of a Woman (Martin Brest, 1992), Flesh & Bone (Steve Kloves, 1993), Vanilla Sky (Cameron Crowe, 2001), Catch Me If You Can (Steven Spielberg, 2002), The Other Woman (Nick Cassavetes, 2014), and The Greatest Showman (Michael Gracey, 2017); and television projects, including Show Me a Hero (Paul Haggis, 2015) and The Wizard of Lies (Barry Levinson, 2017). 

He has been a Guild member since 1991.
