DGA Privacy Policy

The DGA is committed to protecting your privacy. By using www.dga.org (the “Website”), you consent to the practices described in this statement.

Your Website account (“Account”) links your presence on the Website to your DGA membership account (your “Membership Account”).  Your Membership Account contains certain personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) that you have previously given to the DGA, such as your first and last name, physical addresses (including home address), email address, telephone numbers and Social Security number.  To use certain Website services, you will need to upload other Personal Information that the DGA will store with your Membership Account.  To report your earnings online, you will need to upload your work and payment history. To pay your membership dues online, you will need to upload your bank account number and the name on the account.  You also will be able to upload certain other Personal Information for public viewing on the Website, such as your biography and filmography.   The DGA may share certain Personal Information with the DGA-Producer Pension and Health Plans, or with third parties in compliance with court orders or other legal or administrative requirements.

By logging into your Account, you will be able to change certain Personal Information in your Membership Account, such as your email address.  For other changes to your Personal Information, please contact the DGA Membership Department at 310.289.2083.

Information about your computer hardware and software is automatically collected by the DGA. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by the DGA for the operation of the Website, to maintain its quality of service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Website. The DGA tracks the websites and pages visited within the Website and uses "cookies" to improve your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.   You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you may be able to modify your browser setting to decline cookies.

The DGA encourages you to review the privacy policies of websites you choose to link to from the Website so you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. The DGA is not responsible for the privacy policies or other content on websites outside of the Website.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of May 15, 2011.  The DGA reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time for any reason.  If a material change is made to this Privacy Policy, a prominent notice of the change will be posted on the Website.
