Director Martin Scorsese Receives DGA's Highest Honor

Director Martin Scorsese was honored with the DGA Lifetime Achievement Award tonight at the 55th Annual DGA Awards Dinner at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Director Steven Spielberg, the previous recipient of the honor, had the pleasure of presenting the award to Scorsese.

Carl Reiner hosted the Awards ceremony which attracted a record 1,650 guests, including the full slate of presenters: Alan Alda (Betsy's Wedding), Kathy Bates (About Schmidt), Cate Blanchett (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), LeVar Burton (Blizzard), Gil Cates (A Death in the Family and producer of numerous Academy Awards), Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under), Salma Hayek (Frida), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), Michael Keaton (Live From Baghdad), Peter Krause (Six Feet Under), Daniel Day-Lewis (Gangs of New York), Julianne Moore (The Hours), Joe Pesci (Goodfellas), John C. Reilly (Chicago, Gangs of New York, The Hours), Rob Reiner (The American President), Martin Sheen (The West Wing), and Renée Zellweger (Chicago).
