Directors Guild of America President Jack Shea and Awards Committee Chairperson Howard Storm today announced the DGA's nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television for 2001. The winners will be announced at the 54th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
The five nominees will be invited to attend the DGA's Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television symposium to be held on Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Guild headquarters in Los Angeles.
The nominees for the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television for 2001 are (in alphabetical order):

This is Ackerman's first DGA nomination.

This is Pierson's third DGA nomination. He was previously nominated for his direction of the movies for television, Citizen Cohn (1992) and Truman (1995).
