DGA Announces 1997 Nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in TV Categories of Daytime Serials and Children's Programs

Directors Guild of America President Jack Shea today announced the DGA's nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement for 1997 in the television categories of Daytime Serials and Children's Programs. The winners will be announced at the 50th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 7, 1998 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and Windows on the World in New York.

The nominees for the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Daytime Serials for 1997 are (in alphabetical order):

SUSAN FLANNERY
The Bold and the Beautiful (Episode # 2580) - CBS
Associate Directors: Catherine Sedwick, Cynthia J. Popp, Jennifer Hodill
Stage Managers: Laura Yale, Lisa Winther-Huston

This is Flannery's second DGA Award nomination. She was previously nominated in 1995 for Episode #2167 of The Bold and the Beautiful.

CHRISTOPHER GOUTMAN, CHARLES C. DYER AND MARIA WAGNER
As the World Turns (Episode #10,446) - CBS
Associate Directors: Joel Aronowitz, Michael Kerner

This is all three directors' first DGA Award nomination.

This is McKinsey's third DGA Award nomination. He was nominated in 1995 for Episode #8233 of General Hospital and again in 1996 for Episode #8492 of General Hospital.

The Young and the Restless (Episode #6032) - CBS

This is Pacelli's second DGA Award nomination. He was nominated in 1992 for his direction of Episode #4825 of The Young and the Restless.

Mr. Pacelli passed away in March 1997.
