At its most recent meeting, the DGA National Board unanimously voted to reaffirm the Guild’s longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Guild has long been guided by the enduring values of inclusivity and fairness. Unfortunately, these values have come under pressure and members have reported feeling fearful. The National Board wants to reassure all our members that the DGA continues to advocate for an equal and level playing field. We stand for opportunity so that anyone who chooses to pursue a career in film or television, regardless of background, can do so free from bias. Your Guild stands with you, and stands against discrimination, of any kind. Period. We will continue to fight for our members now and in the future.
The DGA is committed to maintaining our Guild’s diversity programs which are designed to comply with applicable laws and are open to all members. Our contracted programs with the studios remain in full effect and we will continue to negotiate for programs that support Directors and members of the directorial team in reaching their full potential.
