DGA Lends Support to Striking SAG-AFTRA and WGA Members

Members of the DGA’s Leadership and staff have recently showed their support for members and staff of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA as they as they continue to fight for fair and equitable contracts with the AMPTP.

On the West Coast on August 2, DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter, National Executive Director Russell Hollander and DGA Members proudly joined SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, WGA President Meredith Stiehm, WGA Chief Negotiator Ellen Stutzman and members of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA at Fox Studios, On August 10, Glatter and several members also visited the striking Actors and Writers at Disney Studios.

On the East Coast on August 15, DGA President Glatter, National Vice-President Laura Belsey and Eastern Executive Director Neil Dudich stood united with SAG-AFTRA New York Local President Ezra Knight, SAG-AFTRA Executive Director, New York Local, Labor Policy and International Affairs Rebecca Damon and WGA East Council Member Josh Gondelman and members of their guilds outside NBC Studios in New York.

On August 22, the AFL-CIO Day of National Solidarity, DGA Secretary-Treasurer/Past President Paris Barclay addressed the striking actors and writers outside Disney Studios in Burbank and was joined by other DGA members and staff; and National Vice President Laura Belsey and other members and staff showed their support at a rally outside the corporate offices of Amazon and HBO in New York.

Together, we will secure a more vibrant, sustainable and thriving future for our industry.
