Remembering Conrad Irving (1948-2023)

The DGA mourns the passing of UPM Conrad Irving, a dedicated member whose longtime service on the Western AD/UPM Council, as well as six negotiating committees, and extensive professional career typified the best of his Guild.

A DGA member since 1979, Irving’s service to the Guild includes 18 terms on the Western AD/UPM Council as either a member or an alternate from 1982 to 2005. He also was a member of the Negotiating Committees in 1984, 1987,1990, 1993, 1996 and 1999.

Irving’s Production Management credits include John Milius's 1991 feature, Flight of the Intruder. He also had extensive credits as an Assistant Director with features such as Richard Benjamin's Downtown, James Fargo's Forced Vengeance and Tom Laughlin's The Return of Billy Jack; movies for television such as Donald P. Bellisario's Three on a Match and Paul Aaron's In Love and War; and classic television series such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Knots Landing, Hunter, Hardcastle & McCormick, The Greatest American Hero and St. Elsewhere. He was also part of Jeff Bleckner’s 1984 DGA Dramatic Series Award-winning episode of Hill Street Blues, “Life in the Minors.”
