Remembering Glen Trotiner

Glen Trotiner 1957-2022

The DGA mourns the passing of First Assistant Director Glen Trotiner, a dedicated member whose longtime service on the Eastern AD/UPM Council, as well as three negotiating committees, and extensive professional career typified the best of his Guild.

A DGA member since 1986, Trotiner’s service to the Guild includes nine terms on the Eastern AD/UPM Council as either a member or an alternate from 1994 to 2013. He also was a member of the Negotiating Committees in 2002, 2005, and 2011. A graduate of the DGA-Producer Assistant Directors Training Program, Trotiner gave back by serving as a trustee of that program for nearly three decades.

Trotiner’s more than 100 Assistant Director credits include features such as Brian DePalma's The Untouchables, Mike Nichols’s Biloxi Blues, Penny Marshall’s Awakenings and Jon Avnet’s Three Christs; as well as television series such as Life on Mars, Mozart in the Jungle, American Gothic and the groundbreaking series Oz.
