The Craft of the Director: Spike Lee

October 23, 2020

With physical distancing restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic still in place, the DGA Special Projects Committee has found new ways to provide craft-focused programming for our members. On October 23, members from all over were able to log in online to view the Committee’s virtual event, The Craft of the Director: Spike Lee.

In an in-depth conversation introduced by Special Projects Committee Chair Jeremy Kagan and moderated by Director John Turturro, Lee discussed topics including how he drew inspiration from classic films for his early work, getting through a difficult performance and finding balance between humor and drama in his films.
