On January 25, the Latino Committee meeting was preceded by the interactive workshop, No More Excuses: Go Digital! During the webinar moderated by Committee Co-Chair SJ Main Muñoz, Committee Alternate Co-Chair Rachel Raimist (Fantasy Island, CSI: Vegas) shared her process using Scriptation, a script reading and annotating app that allows Directors, Cinematographers, Producers and Writers to go paperless on set and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Via step-by-step demos and real-world examples, Raimist showed the attendees how such digital tools can help Directors and directorial team members save paper and time on episodic television productions.
Raimist’s directorial credits include the pilot of the series Wild Life; episodes of the series CSI: Vegas, Fantasy Island, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Nancy Drew, Greenleaf, Queen Sugar and Roswell, New Mexico; and the documentaries Stories of the Storm and Nobody Knows My Name. A DGA member since 2018, Raimist has served on the DGA Special Projects Committee, as an alternate Co-Chair of the Latino Committee and as a Co-Coordinator of the Women’s Steering Committee’s Activities & Events Committee and its WSC Squad Mentorship Program.
ABOUT THE COMMITTEE:
The Latino Committee was created as a networking group to advance career and job opportunities for Latino DGA members by improving craft skills, networking, and making Latinos better known to the Hollywood creative community.
