Director Adam Robitel discusses Escape Room

A DGA Q&A in Los Angeles

Six strangers must use their wits to survive a deadly game in Director Adam Robitel’s new thriller, Escape Room.

Capturing the cultural zeitgeist and the popularity of mystery-solving entertainment like escape rooms, Robitel’s film tells the story of a group of adventurous game players vying to win $10,000 by cracking a series of puzzles in a mysterious building. But what began as seemingly innocent fun morphs into a living nightmare as they discover each room is an elaborate trap in a sadistic contest of life or death.

Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on January 20, Robitel sat down with Director Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day 2U) to discuss the making of Escape Room.

In addition to Escape Room, Robitel’s credits include the feature films Insidious: The Last Key and The Taking of Deborah Logan. Robitel has been a DGA member since 2016.
