Bay Area Members Attend 2017 SFCC Fall Mixer

November 8, 2017 A San Francisco Coordinating Committee Event

Bay Area-based DGA members gathered for a festive evening during the San Francisco Coordinating Committee (SFCC)’s 2017 Fall Networking Mixer. Held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco, the evening offered the attendees the opportunity to networking with peers as they celebrated the Northern California film, television and video/digital industry.

Following welcoming comments from SFCC Chair John Morse, Committee Member Lope Yap, Jr. and Director John Korty, the Committee presented San Francisco Film Commissioner Mark Fishkin with a certificate of merit in recognition of his dedication and contributions to the film community of Northern California. Fishkin is also the Founder and Executive Director of the California Film Institute which produces the Mill Valley Film Festival and has operated the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center and Education Program for 33 years.

After the presentation, the attendees enjoyed an evening of networking and socializing with their peers and other local industry professionals.

About the Committee:

The SFCC was formed in 1978 to coordinate Guild activities in the Bay Area. The Committee hosts a number of educational presentations and networking events during the year, in order to fulfill its objectives of facilitating the exchange of ideas, maintaining contacts with other guilds and unions, and furthering professional opportunities for all Northern California DGA members.
