Director Martin Campbell discusses The Foreigner

October 29, 2017 A DGA Q&A in Los Angeles

It’s all out action when Jackie Chan takes on Pierce Brosnan in Director Martin Campbell’s new thriller, The Foreigner.

Campbell’s film tells the story of a humble businessman with a buried past (Chan) who seeks justice when his daughter is killed in an act of terrorism. He engages in a cat-and-mouse conflict with a government official (Brosnan), whose past may hold clues to the killers’ identities.

Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on October 29, Campbell sat down with Director Michael Apted (Unlocked) to discuss the making of The Foreigner.

In addition to The Foreigner, Campbell’s credits include the feature films Casino Royale, The Legend of Zorro, Vertical Limit, The Mask of Zorro and GoldenEye; the movies for television Warriors and Cast a Deadly Spell; and episodes of the series Homicide: Life on the Street and Reilly: Ace of Spies. Campbell has been a DGA member since 1992.
