Noah Baumbach: Frances Ha

The subject of how one becomes a more responsible adult without losing their youthful sense of who they are sets the framework for Director Noah Baumbach's latest feature Frances Ha.

In the film, an awkward 27-year-old aspiring New York dancer (Greta Gerwig) attempts to get her life together, while dealing with the vagaries of  friendship, residential worries, and her career and future, while still pursuing her dreams. Following the May 12 DGA membership screening in New York, Baumbach discussed challenges of making Frances Ha with Director Brian De Palma (Passion).

Baumbach’s other films include Greenberg, The Squid and the Whale, Margot at the Wedding, and Kicking and Screaming. He has been a DGA member since 2004.
