Roger Michell: Hyde Park on Hudson

An outing in upstate New York becomes international in director Roger Michell’s new feature Hyde Park on Hudson. The film recounts the true story of the famous “hot dog picnic” in June 1939 when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Bill Murray) entertained King George VI and Queen Elizabeth at his home at Hyde Park on Hudson during the first-ever visit of a reigning English monarch to America. Michell (Morning Glory, Changing Lanes, Notting Hill) discussed the film with director Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) following the DGA Los Angeles screening on October 7 and director Joshua Marston (The Forgiveness of Blood) after the New York screening on October 14.
