The DGA's AD/UPM/ TC Mentor Committee sponsored a seminar for assistant directors and unit production managers entitled "Survival Secrets to Conflict Resolution" on Saturday, July 26, in the DGA Boardroom. Following opening remarks from UPM Kim Kurumada (West Coast AD/UPM Council Chair) and AD/UPM Randy Turrow (AD/UPM/TC Mentor Committee Chair) — both of whom addressed the fact that movie sets are places often rife with confict and misunderstandings — the microphone was turned over to professional conflict managers/mediators, DGA member Barry Simon and Rian Thomas.
