DGA Promotes Lisa Layer to Associate Western Executive Director

Los Angeles –DGA National Executive Director Jay D. Roth today announced that Guild executive Lisa Layer has been promoted to Associate Western Executive Director.

"For many years, Lisa has had great success working with and on behalf of our members across multiple areas ranging from contract management to organizing," said Roth. "Our members will recognize the benefit of her expertise and dedication more than ever before as she joins our senior executive team, stepping into her newly expanded role where she will lead organizing on a national scale."

In addition to continuing her work with the Western AD/SM/PA Council and the Guild’s efforts in the areas of documentary and reality television, Lisa will add independent film to her portfolio. As part of these duties, Layer will work closely with the Independent Directors Committee and continue her ongoing efforts with the Reality Television Committee.

Layer joined the DGA in 1997, serving as an Administrative Assistant and Field Representative in the Guild’s Chicago office while she earned a Master’s degree in labor relations. In 2004, Layer transferred to the Guild’s headquarters in Los Angeles as a Field Representative.  She was promoted to Special Assignments Executive in 2008, and Assistant Executive Director in 2010. 

Prior to joining the DGA, Layer worked in New York City as an agent’s assistant at ICM. Layer received her Master of Science in labor relations at Loyola University, and Bachelor of Fine Arts at NYU.
