DGA Launches TV Director Craft Workshop & Mentorship Program

TV Director Craft Workshop & Mentorship Program

December 15, 2016

The DGA is pleased to announce a new pilot mentorship program for 2017. The Guild’s upcoming Craft Workshop & Mentorship Program aims to set our members up for success through professional development so that they can turn new opportunities into long-term careers. Created for members who aspire to direct or expand their directorial career in episodic television direction, the program serves as the culminating experience of the Director Development Initiative.

Prospective candidates who have taken part in previous DDI activities will be credited for participation. Lack of participation in any or all of the DDI events does not exclude a candidate from being considered for the workshop and mentorship program.

The Craft Workshop & Mentorship Program are open to all DGA members, however the 2017 pilot program will be based in Los Angeles.

The deadline to submit is January 20, 2017.

The DGA Director Development Initiative (DDI) Craft Workshop & Mentorship Program are open to DGA members. Up to 25 candidates will be selected for the Craft Workshop which is focused on in-demand technical skillsets and best practices. From that pool of candidates, up to 15 “protégés” will be paired with a veteran television director who will serve as their professional guide to the working world of episodic television throughout 2017.
