The Franco-American Cultural Fund

In March 1996, DGA signed an agreement with SACEM (France’s Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music) the Writers Guild of America (WGA), and the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) entering into a partnership with the goal of creating a common cultural fund to be used in promoting and teaching the art of filmmaking in their respective countries. The fund organizes meetings of French and American film professionals, works to preserve the cinematic heritage of the U.S. and France through film restoration, and promotes French cinema in the U.S. through the COLCOA Film Festival (City of Lights City of Angels) held each spring at the DGA theaters in Los Angeles.
