Christopher Nolan: Interstellar

November 16, 2014 DGA Q&As in Los Angeles and New York

A group of explorers make an interstellar voyage in hopes of saving the human race in Director Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.

Set in the near future, Nolan’s film imagines an Earth devastated by drought and famine with humanity on the brink of extinction. When a mysterious rip in the space-time continuum is discovered, a team of intrepid astronauts embark on a deep space expedition via a wormhole in hopes of finding a future home for the human race on another world.

Following the DGA membership screening in New York on November 2, Nolan spoke about the making of the film in a conversation with Director Frank Oz (Leverage). Nolan also participated in a Q&A with Director Edgar Wright (The World's End) following the DGA's Los Angeles screening on November 16.

In addition to Interstellar, Nolan’s filmography includes the short Doodlebug; the feature films Following, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan also received DGA Award nominations for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for Memento and The Dark Knight, and another DGA Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination for "Best Picture" for Inception. He has been a member of the DGA since 2001.
