On April 14, following their monthly meeting in the DGA's Los Angeles headquarters boardroom, the DGA Women's Steering Committee (WSC) welcomed special guest, Director Garry Marshall who addressed them on the topic, "Is Gender Funny?"
An acknowledged master of the comedic arts, Marshall is a four-time Emmy Award nominee and recipient of the American Comedy Awards 1990 Creative Achievement Award. He has directed the feature films Georgia Rule, The Princess Diaries, and Pretty Woman; and episodes of the television series Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and The Odd Couple. Marshall has been a DGA member since 1967.
