Asian American Committee Elects New Co-Chairs

Directors Kevin Berlandi and Michael Goi and Steven J. Kung have been elected co-chairs of the DGA's Asian American Committee.

The Asian American Committee was created as a networking group to provide a forum for interests and issues that concern Asian-American Guild members. Through outreach efforts in the entertainment industry that emphasize career development and skills enhancement, the committee provides a variety of networking opportunities as well as screenings, seminars and discussions with industry professionals.

Kevin Berlandi Kevin Berlandi

Berlandi was born in Seoul, South Korea but raised just outside of Boston, MA. He broke into the industry as an Assistant Director on projects with notable Directors including Michael Bay, Mike Nichols, Rob Reiner, Gore Verbinski, and Christopher Nolan. Since he made the move to directing, Berlandi has directed commercials for brands such as Nissan, Toyota, Audi, Saleen Motors, Burger King, Mattel, and Hasbro. Berlandi has been a DGA member since 2007.

Michael Goi

Michael Goi

Born and raised in Chicago, Goi’s directing credits include the feature films Voyeur and Megan is Missing; and episodes of the television series Sexy Urban Legends, Pretty Little Liars, and American Horror Story. He is also known as an acclaimed cinematographer with over 70 narrative credits and earned Emmy nominations for his cinematography work on Glee, American Horror Story and My Name Is Earl. Goi has been a DGA member since 2014.

Stephen J. Kung

Steven J. Kung

A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Kung’s directing credits include the feature film A Leading Man and the award-winning documentary, SPEW: The Competitive World of High School Debate as well as promotional videos for the development campaigns of the Victory Fund and the University of Virginia. Kung has been a DGA member since 2011.
