As part of the Guild’s ongoing efforts to serve members residing outside Los Angeles and New York, Associate Eastern Executive Director Neil J. Dudich, together with Field Representative Steven Knauss, recently conducted the second annual DGA membership meeting and dinner in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 6.
The meeting provided an opportunity for DGA members to network with their peers, hear updates from DGA staff, and discuss issues important to members living and working in the region.
Nearly 40 members from Louisiana and beyond were in attendance as Dudich reported on the current state of the Guild and its activities. He provided information about the DGA contracts, pension and health plans and reiterated the commitment to bolstering the Guild’s presence and enforcing members’ creative and economic rights. Dudich also gave an update on the tax incentive debate taking place in Louisiana’s state legislature and gave members a sample letter to send their representatives.
Knauss – who is responsible for covering all of Louisiana – gave a report on common issues and concerns he’s seen on local sets over the past year. The questions and discussion that ensued provided feedback that will help inform the Guild’s approach moving forward.
