The DGA mourns the passing of its former Fifth Vice President, Director Andrew M. Costikyan, who died on October 10 at the age of 90.

An accomplished commercial director, Costikyan became a DGA member in 1965 when the Guild merged with the Screen Directors International Guild, a New York-based group whose members largely directed TV commercials and documentaries. He served as a member of the National Board from 1971 to 1999 as either a Board Member or First Alternate Member.

In 1971 Costikyan was elected Fifth Vice President of the Guild. He was also very active in DGA affairs in Chicago where he served on the Chicago Coordinating Committee from 1965 to 2000, with several terms as Committee Chair. He also served on the Eastern Directors Council from 1979 to 2000; and as a Committee Alternate for the Directors Guild Foundation from 1999 to 2000.

The DGA extends its condolences to his family, friends and colleagues and our gratitude for his service.
