NY AD Training Program Announces New Trainees & Graduates

NY AD Training Program Announces New Trainees & Graduates 2011

July 8, 2011

The New York Assistant Director Training Program (ADTP) has accepted seven new trainees who will work in the production of feature films and television programs and three into the 2011 Commercial Program. The ADTP will be graduating five other trainees from its Film/Television and Television Commercials programs.

The ADTP provides opportunities for a limited number of individuals to become Assistant Directors. Combined with seminars and special assignments, the focus of this two-year program is on-the-job training. Trainees are placed and become employees of a wide variety of feature films, television series and commercials shot primarily in the New York City vicinity where they will work under the supervision of DGA AD/UPM members until completion of the program. Upon graduating they are qualified to join the Guild as Second Assistant Directors.

The new film/television production program trainees are Jake Brown, Tysheen Edge, Jack McKenna, Josh Muzaffer, Cheryl Olszowka, Ayesha Corn, and Deanna Urciuoli.

The NY ADTP expanded in 2007 to include a separate track for commercial AD training. Over the course of two years, most of the experience provided to these trainees is focused in the area of commercial production. The new commercial production program trainees are Steve Bruno, Tate Nova, and Josh Voegelin.

Congratulations are also in order to trainees Michelle Flevotomas, Kelly Mahoney, Colin Markowitz, Stephen Shepard and Woodrow Travers who graduated from the film/television program this past June.
