After reconnecting with old friends during a father-son trip, a man reflects on his life choices in Director Mike White’s new comedic-drama, Brad’s Status.
White’s film tells the story of Brad Sloan (Ben Stiller), whose comfortable life in suburban California isn’t quite what he imagined during his glory days in college. When he decides to show his college bound son around Boston, where he went to school, he can’t help comparing his life with those of his four best college friends whose successful lives and glamorous jobs make him wonder if he’s a failure or the most successful of them all.
Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on September 25, White sat down with Director Miguel Arteta to discuss the making of Brad’s Status. White also penned the script for Arteta’s latest feature, Beatriz at Dinner.
In addition to Brad’s Status, White’s credits include the feature films Year of the Dog, the movie for television Mamma Dallas and episodes of the television series Enlightened. White has been a DGA member since 2006.
