Gareth Edwards discusses Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

December 18, 2016 A DGA Q&A in Los Angeles

The rebel alliance makes a desperate gambit to capture the plans of the Death Star in Director Gareth Edwards’ new sci-fi adventure, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Edwards’ film takes us back a long time ago in that galaxy far, far away to the time just before the opening frames of the original Star Wars film. Rogue One follows the exploits of a young woman who defies all odds to lead a heroic band of rebels on a deadly mission to save the galaxy from the evil Empire’s dreaded new weapon of mass destruction.

Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on December 18, Edwards sat down with Director Christopher Miller, who is currently directing the untitled Han Solo Star Wars anthology film with Phil Lord, to discuss the making of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

In addition to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Edwards’ credits include the feature films Godzilla and Monsters; the movie for television End Day; episodes of the television documentary series Heroes and Villains and Perfect Disasters; and the short film Factory Farmed. Edwards has been a DGA member since 2013.
