James Wan: Furious 7

April 12, 2015 A DGA Q&A in Los Angeles

The high-octane adrenaline thrill ride adventures of the Fast & Furious crew continues in Director James Wan’s new feature Furious 7.

In Wan’s entry to the highly popular franchise, after securing amnesties for their past crimes through the deeds performed in Fast & Furious 6, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his band of tight-knit street racers have returned to the United States with plans to live normal lives. But those plans, and their very lives, are endangered by the rogue special forces assassin brother of a defeated nemesis who is out for revenge.

Following the DGA membership screening in Los Angeles on April 12, Wan spoke about the challenges of making the film — complicated by the untimely death of star Paul Walker — in a conversation with Director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy).

In addition to Furious 7, Wan’s filmography includes the feature films Saw, Dead Silence, Death Sentence, Insidious, The Conjuring, and Insidious: Chapter 2. He has been a DGA member since 2005.
