The DGA's San Francisco Coordinating Committee (SFCC) welcomed DGA members from all categories to their Annual General Membership Meeting and Reception on March 23. Bay Area Guild members were welcomed to San Francisco's Concordia-Argonaut Club by DGA Assistant Executive Director Lisa Layer and special guest, DGA First Vice President Paris Barclay.
Barclay spoke about a number of subjects including: the state of the Guild, plans for the next negotiations cycle in 2013, and recent successes in California Film and Television Production Incentives that employed Bay Area DGA members. Layer followed Barclay with a report from the national office.
SFCC Secretary Carolina Zorrilla de San Martin delivered the Secretary’s Report. There were also reports from SFCC Production Information and News Sub-Committee Chair Frank Simeone, who read the list detailing the productions occurring in the Bay Area; SFCC member Jani Vournas, spoke about the CPR course that was held Saturday, March 2 in Corte Madera; and Networking Sub-Committee Chair John Slosser, spoke about the networking mixer, which will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the Delancey Street Restaurant’s second floor venue, with a view of the Bay.
The official business concluded with nominations for new SFCC Executive Committee candidates, the election results will be announced and elections of Officers will take place at the upcoming meeting on April 17.
