The 8th Annual Howard W. Koch Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Monday, June 28, at the Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Directors Guild Foundation.

This year's tournament features both an "Own Ball" Club Championship Flight (shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.) and a Scramble Tournament (shotgun start at 1 p.m.) where each golfer will play the group's "best" ball for every shot. For the "Own Ball" Club Championship Flight," DGA members with a minimum SCGA Handicap of 18 or under will compete for gross and net 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. For the Scramble Tournament, prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and individual prizes will be given for "Closest to the Pin" and "Longest Drive." There will also be a "Circle Hole." A special Golf Tournament Raffle will feature a Grand Prize of a one-night stay, plus two rounds of golf at the famed La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego.

The DGA recently announced the inaugural DGA Foundation Tennis Tournament to be held on Monday, June 28, at the Los Angeles Tennis Club. This new tournament is scheduled to coincide on the same day as the 8th Annual Howard W. Koch Memorial Golf Tournament, to raise additional funds for the Directors Guild Foundation through the involvement of more Guild members in Foundation fundraising activities.

The tournament will be held at the Los Angeles Tennis Club, where tennis greats Stan Smith, Jimmy Connors and Billie Jean King have played on the famed Center Court. Following the tournament, players are invited to join fellow members participating in the DGA Golf Tournament for a joint celebratory dinner reception and awards ceremony at the Wilshire Country Club.

Prizes will be awarded for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Player categories.

There will also be a Tennis Tournament Raffle featuring a Grand Prize of a one-night stay, plus tennis for two at the famed La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego.

Since its founding in 1945, the Directors Guild Foundation has grown considerably, providing a variety of services including: granting interest-free short-term loans to DGA members in need of emergency financial aid, supporting the conservation and preservation of modern films through the DGA-Motion Picture Industry Conservation Collection at the UCLA Film and Television Archive, and making contributions to the Motion Picture & Television Country Home and Hospital.
