At the September meeting of the DGA National Board, it was revealed that residuals collections for 2002 had surpassed $200 million and that the total residuals collections since 1993 totaled $1.4 billion.
"2002 was a very good residuals year for DGA members," DGA Executive in Charge of Residuals Teri Benton said. "Of that $200 million, over $30 million went directly to the DGA Pension Plan which benefits everybody. Whether a member earns residuals or not, every member is benefiting in the Pension Plan. The $30 million came from the explosion in DVD sales, along with sales of features to TV."
