The DGA Awards season went into high gear on January 21, 2003, when Directors Guild of America President Martha Coolidge announced the five nominees for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2002.
Nominees for other DGA categories were announced over subsequent weeks. The winners were named at the 55th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
