Independent Film Project DGA-sponsored breakfast attendees (photo by Robert Hale) - click image for larger view and details The DGA hosted an informal breakfast on September 27 at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, in honor of the 24th Annual Independent Film Project (IFP) commencement. DGA Assistant Eastern Executive Director Fern Wakneen greeted the more than 60 guests. Colin Stanfield, Associate Director of No Borders International Co-Production Market, spoke about "threatening trends" in the film industry with the power to sabotage directors' artistic rights. Director member Brad Anderson stressed the importance of the IFP as a source of funding for the filmmaker in search of completion funds, and as a conduit for the filmmaker seeking a distributor and/or exhibitor.
