On the set of Once Upon a Time, second from the left, script supervisor Josephine Cohen, (next) 2nd unit director Bill Mull, (next) 1st assistant director James Nicholson, (in chair) director Alexander Hall watching a scene with actors James Gleason, Ted Donaldson, Janet Blair and Cary Grant. According to Nicholson, Hall and the cast were unhappy with the script. To fix it, Hall gathered the cast, script supervisor and writers together for a series of brainstorming sessions conducted over a three-day period with everybody contributing scenes and dialogue. Two secretaries took notes that were then incorporated into the final shooting script. Photo courtesy of UPM/AD member James Nicholson.
