On the set of the 1975 movie for television, Eleanor and Franklin, are director and current DGA Western Directors Council member Daniel M. Petrie, Sr. (second from left) and actress Jane Alexander as Eleanor Roosevelt (far right). Petrie won the DGA Award for his direction of this movie for television. The photo is part of a new collection to be unveiled at the DGA in Los Angeles on March 2, 2002, celebrating a "Half Century of Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television." The collection features rare stills from the private collection of DGA Award-winning directors and from historical archives. What makes this collection so unique is that, unlike feature films, there are very few photos available of directors working on television productions. In addition, Jane Alexander will be one of the honorees at this year's DGA Honors in New York.
