DGA Revises Documentary Agreements
The DGA has revised its documentary contracts as they apply to work done for theatrical, free television, pay television, basic cable television and video release.
Some of the highlights of the restructured contracts are: using the DGA Low Budget Sideletter to cover theatrical documentaries budgeted under $6 million, insistence on the accordance of credit granted in the form of "directed by" and provisions regarding the payment of health and pension benefits on behalf of DGA documentarians.
Members who are planning to direct documentaries or work on them in another Guild capacity should be sure to contact one of the Guild staff members listed below to discuss how to get the work covered under a DGA agreement.
